Greenpeace Hungary has officially launched its “Csomagollam” campaign, calling on the public to help identify the most absurd and unnecessary plastic packaging found in domestic stores.
The initiative aims to provide a guide for shoppers on which stores offer the best opportunities to avoid excessive waste, while simultaneously motivating supermarket chains to introduce sustainable alternatives across more product categories.
The task is simple: if you spot a product wrapped in an unjustifiable amount of plastic at a supermarket, take a photo and send it to Greenpeace Hungary by March 12. From the submissions, a jury will select the six most “terrifying plastic monsters,” and the final winner of the Csomagollam Award will be decided by public vote! The prize is a Greenpeace canvas tote bag and a reusable mesh produce bag for plastic-free shopping.
