The PET Pack CEE Forum 2026 will be held in Budapest on 17 September 2026. This one-day B2B professional conference focuses on the compliance requirements for Food Contact Materials (FCM) and the competitiveness of companies within the Central and Eastern European PET value chain.

Realized in cooperation between PETCORE EUROPE and KÖR, the event brings together European regulatory representatives, industry leaders, and compliance experts. Participants will review and discuss how the European Union’s constantly evolving packaging regulations impact market access, certification processes, sourcing strategies, costs, and the day-to-day operations of companies.

The conference is relevant to all players in the PET value chain, including recyclers, converters, packaging manufacturers, brand owners, importers, and distributors.

Why attend the PET Pack CEE Forum 2026?

  • Guidance from the European Commission: Participants will have the opportunity to hear from Stefano Soro, Head of the Sustainable Products Unit at the European Commission’s DG GROW. In his presentation, he will outline how the EU’s circular economy objectives are taking shape in practice and what expectations European institutions have for industry players.

  • Understanding business and operational impacts: Through the practical experiences of industry leaders, you can learn about the consequences the new EU packaging rules have for Central and Eastern European companies.

  • Up-to-date, practical professional knowledge: Gain deeper insight into food contact material compliance requirements, NIAS monitoring, and the testing and certification of recycled PET. Additional topics will include traceability, data-sharing obligations, the application of functional barriers, recyclability assessments, and the regulatory expectations for chemical recycling.

  • Real-world corporate case studies: Encounter real examples showcasing how packaging and recycling companies have tackled compliance challenges, the decisions they made, and the specific results they achieved.
