PreZero and Tomorrowland, one of the world’s most prominent music festivals, have forged a comprehensive, multi-year strategic partnership. Launching in 2026 and initially planned for five festival seasons, the collaboration aims to optimize on-site waste management at large-scale events and put circular economy principles into practice. The initiative demonstrates how “temporary cities” formed at festivals can become European lighthouse projects for raw material sovereignty and carbon footprint reduction.

Focusing on Resource Preservation and Climate Protection

Wherever tens of thousands of people gather, a temporary city emerges, providing an ideal environment to implement a European-level circular lighthouse project. This is exactly where PreZero and Tomorrowland are joining forces. The primary goal of the partnership is the consistent preservation of valuable raw materials, thereby reducing CO2 emissions, and making the circular economy an interactive, tangible experience for an international audience.

By gradually optimizing on-site waste management, the parties will practically demonstrate how circular material flows can contribute to Europe’s raw material sovereignty. PreZero—as a strong partner within the Schwarz Group’s ecosystem—intends to act as a driver of transformation by combining industrial scalability with digital transparency.

Innovative and Interactive Waste Collection at the Festival

For the 2026 summer season, sustainability efforts will take a visible and practical form at the Tomorrowland site in Boom, Belgium. As part of the partnership, mobile teams will move among festival-goers, equipped with custom-designed recycling backpacks, allowing materials to be collected directly at their point of origin. This system is complemented by specially trained performers acting as “circular ambassadors.” Their role is to maintain the festival’s high energy level while interactively promoting proper waste separation.

“Circularity at Scale” – The Love Tomorrow Summit 2026

The collaboration extends beyond the festival grounds. According to PreZero, the circular economy fails not due to a lack of ambition, but when it remains trapped within a single company, sector, or silo. The company will champion this approach at the Love Tomorrow Summit, taking place on the Tomorrowland grounds on July 23, 2026.

In a program segment titled “Circularity at Scale,” PreZero will take the stage alongside high-ranking representatives from Tomorrowland and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). Their shared premise is that operational models already proven in large stadiums and festivals can be scaled and extended to the broader economy. The summit provides a platform to demonstrate that circular responsibility and economic resilience are not mutually exclusive, bringing this discussion directly to decision-makers capable of driving systemic change.
