A klímaváltozás hatása könnyek között

Az északi sarkkörnél, a kanadai Baffin-szigeten Paul Nicklen fotográfus, a Sea Legacy nevű környezetvédő csoport tagja készített egy szívszorító videót egy teljesen lesoványodott, erejét vesztett jegesmedvéről.

A fotós a videót egy instagram bejegyzésben tette közzé, melyben leírta, hogy a környezetvédelmi csoport tagjai sírva nézték végig, ahogy dokumentálták a haldokló jegesmedvét. „Így néz ki az éhezés. Az izmok elsorvadnak. Nincs energia. Lassú és fájdalmas halál ez.” – írja bejegyzésében.

A videót azért tették közé, hogy felhívják a figyelmet a klímaváltozás hatásaira. Álláspontjuk szerint, ha a Föld továbbra is melegszik, elveszítjük a medvéket és az egész poláris ökoszisztémákat. Ez a medve sem volt öreg és biztosan meghalt rövid időn belül.

De vannak megoldások. Csökkenteni kell a szén-dioxid-lábnyomunkat, megfelelő ételeket kell fogyasztani, meg kell állítani az erdők vágását, és óvjuk a Földet.
